This is the official re-release on vinyl under licensed courtesy of BMG Rights Management,UK, remastered from an original master copy out of the vaults of BMG. Originally released in 1970 on Transatlantic Records. Keyboard player Peter Bardens (19 June 1944 - 22 January 2002) is best-known as one of the founder members of Camel. He appeared on the first six Camel albums. This album is an eclectic selection of psychedelic, blues and crossover prog and features guitar legend Peter Green of Fleetwood Mac on two long titles and included Andy Gee on guitar, Bruce Thomas on bass, Reg Isidore on drums and a few friends as guests on vocals (a.o. Steve Ellis from Love Affair) and percussion. The album opens with 'The Answer'. The cheerful and vibrant opening keyboard chords conjure up a tantalasing image of an English country garden on a warm summer's day bathed in the golden glow emanating from the scintillating psychedelic guitar. Next 'Don't Goof With The Spook' is a purple haze of acid-drenched guitar reverb. This psychedelic freak-out is very reminiscent of Jimi Hendrix. This heavy dose of psychedelia is sure to delight fans of the late-1960's American west coast acid guitar sound. Next title 'I Can't Remember' moves from blues rock to psychedelic with an extended psychedelic jam from the dynamic duo of Peter Bardens and Peter Green. Side two opens with 'I Don't Want To Go Home', a light and airy song featuring a flirtatious flute presenting a playful and pleasurable melody. 'Let's Get It On' is a straightforward blues-rock number. Last title, the 13-minute long 'Homage To The God Of Light' is going full speed ahead and it's the proggiest of all the songs on the album. This storming, pounding and percussive powerhouse of a song is the thunderous highlight of the album! Really great stuff! The album comes with insert including bandstory and rare photos. Not only for Camel fans, but also for all lovers of keyboard and guitar driven psychedelic blues rock. Don't miss this great album.
