In 1974, the Cosmic Crew Gille, Dieter Dierks, Jürgen Dollase, Harald Großkopf and Mythos recorded Volume 2, but it never came to a release at that time. Until now. Almost 50 years after its recording, 'Zeitschiff 2' can finally take off. Gille conjures up Timothy Leary's spirit here as well, comets and stars whizz through space on fluorescent ray trails - the Cosmic Couriers live up to their name. A record with one unreleased "cosmic couriers" session is an exciting release for sure, especially after almost 50 years! Alas, the scarce information provided for this release leaves the listener with several open questions. Still, some further information can be drawn from one old source. Indeed, I knew about an unreleased recording by the Kosmische Kuriere crew since decades. The only available information about it came from an old and very informative book about German rock scene by Günther Ehnert and Detlef Kinsler, titled "Rock in Deutschland" and published in 1984 by Taurus Press Hamburg. That book, entirely written in German language, was extremely informative, with hundreds of German groups and solo artists covered in separate entries provided in alphabetical A-Z order, with a total of more than 400 pages, and a very accurate and detailed index for all musicians cited along the book. "Rock in Deutschland" was a kind of bible in those pre-internet times, when finding informations about a certain group/artist required long and time-consuming searches through the few magazines, books, leaflet and papers that could be found at the time, and long before any other informative book was written about the German rock music scene from 60s to 80s. Interestingly, "Rock in Deutschland" was written and published in early 80s, i.e. a time when new wave and pop spread over all countries and any interest about progressive and experimental rock (including the 'deutschrock' scene) was long gone and essentially extinct.
