During the latter part of 1971, Fläsket Brinner was allowed to rehearse at the Pistolteatern completely free of charge, provided they gave a series of concerts at the theater. Here, the organist Bo Hansson had greater opportunities to expand his ideas as an organ soloist. In total, Fläsket Brinner performed four concerts at Pistolteatern, and one of them is presented on this LP. It is clear that Bo Hansson enjoyed filling the void left by Bobo Stenson who just before this gig left Fläsket Brinner. With both playfulness and raw energy, Bo Hansson explores many of the themes that a couple of months later would reappear on his classic solo album "Ur Trollkarlens Hatt". The music on this LP is centered around Bo Hansson and his organ, with Erik Dahlbäck and Per Bruun as a steady rhythmic backbone. Bengt Dalén and Gunnar Bergsten, who have always been obvious soloists, focus more on providing Bo Hansson the support he needs to make this particular concert incredibly unique!
Recorded and engineered [...] at Pistolteatern in Stockholm on February 14, 1972.
Limited edition of 500 copies black color.
With printed inner sleeve and a four-page insert.
No track durations on the release.
Nice pressing, considering the recording is an old tape from a member of the audience, it sounds pretty good.
The music on this record is amazing, Bosse Hansson IS as energetic as ever, just as prompted by the hypesticker on the sleeve. The bands playing is great and really stretching themselves to make everything groovy.
It's a must for fans of swedish psychedelic music and fans of Bosse in particular. Like a mix of the wild days of Hansson & Karlsson mixed with the intensity and beauty that you would expect from Fläsket. A new gem for the collection really!
