Chirco was a relatively obscure American band active around the early 1970s, with roots and influences tracing back to the 1960s rock scene. Their only known album, Visitation, was released in 1972 on Crested Butte Records. While not commercially successful, the album has since become a cult favorite among collectors of psychedelic and progressive rock.The group was named after Tony Chirco, a skilled studio and jazz drummer from Fairfield County, Connecticut.The album blends progressive rock, hard rock, and horn rock, with some psychedelic elements.Though their unique album didn’t gain mainstream traction, it has been reissued several times and is appreciated for its unique blend of genres and ambitious arrangements.
