In the 1960s, John Mayall & the Bluesbreakers took the London music scene by storm. Europe and America soon followed, mesmerised by his own brand of British blues. In these early years, his line-ups included the likes of guitarists Mick Taylor, saxophonist Dick Heckstall-Smith, drummers Keef Hartley and Colin Allen, as well as violinist Don Sugarcane Harris and guitarist Freddie Robinson. Across the channel, music TV in France was broadcasting intelligent, high-quality shows and mini documentaries, inviting British and American musicians to perform. John Mayall was a regular guest, and this collection follows his musical journey between 1967 and 1973, including performances in Paris, London and the Newport Jazz Festival, captured by the French TV archives, beautifully filmed and produced, and newly remastered.
